Mtre. Samuel Bachand serves his clientele in the areas of administrative and constitutional law, regulatory penal (quasi-criminal) law, municipal law, and general civil law. He also possesses substantial experience in real‑estate law, the governance of small businesses and non‑profit organizations, and contract drafting.

He has advocated, at trial and on appeal, before all levels of courts of justice in Quebec, the Federal Court of Canada, and various disciplinary and administrative tribunals. He has prepared memoranda and pleadings submitted to the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Quebec Superior Court, the Assemblée Nationale du Québec, and the Senate of Canada.

Mtre. Bachand has advised and successfully represented major corporations such as Hydro‑Québec, Sanivac, Placements Sergakis, TELUS, and Vidéotron. He has also acted for municipalities, for Montréal‑Trudeau International Airport and the Saint‑Hubert‑de‑Longueuil Airport, as well as for real‑estate developers, religious corporations, and interest groups.

Mtre. Bachand served as secretary of a private investigative committee composed of the Honourable Lucien Bouchard, Mr. Claude Béland (former CEO of Mouvement Desjardins), and canon lawyer Francis G. Morrisey. He also worked as researcher‑writer for the Honourable John C. Major (former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada), the Honourable Preston Manning, and Mr. Michel Kelly‑Gagnon (founding President of IEDM) within a committee appointed by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith to prepare for a reform of civil liberties in that province.

From 2012 to 2016, Mtre. Bachand coached McGill University’s team for the Laskin Moot Competition in administrative and constitutional law. From 2012 to 2020, he taught at the Université de Montréal courses on public freedoms (Charters), legal drafting and advocacy techniques, torts liability, and an introduction to common law.
